In recent months, analysts and writers have shared reports highlighting job growth trends in the U.S. Some national reports show encouraging statistics. That said, certain states are still trying to catch up to the national economy.
In a recent article featured in the Birmingham Business Journal, Neal Wade, director of the University of Alabama’s Economic Development Academy, explores some of the economic trends we’ve seen in Alabama since the Great Recession. In doing so, he cites Porter White & Company’s most recent Birmingham Area Economic Report.
He acknowledges that Alabama is lagging many other states in economic growth, but he also highlights opportunities to overcome existing challenges and spark economic development. He focuses on promoting “striving communities” and lists a number of resources being employed by the University of Alabama.
