Summary
PW&Co has been financial advisor to the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Authority (“BJCC”) for more than two decades. In 2023, PW&Co advised the BJCC on its $30 million bond offering, which will be used to construct a new open-air amphitheater and related facilities. The financing required the coordination of multiple governmental and private entities including the BJCC; City of Birmingham; Jefferson County; Greater Birmingham Convention and Visitor’s Bureau; Live Nation; and Northside Redevelopment, LLC.
PW&Co Role
PW&Co served as financial advisor to the Authority in connection with its amphitheater financing. We assisted the BJCC in developing financial projections and analysis, selecting and monitoring the underwriting team, structuring and evaluating investment of bond proceeds, preparing information for rating agencies, and negotiating and structuring the transaction. PW&Co provides ongoing advisory for the BJCC and regularly monitors the impact of recent events on its current and future financial position.
