On February 2, 2017, Porter White & Company (PWCo) released its Q3 2016 Birmingham Area Economic Report. The report reveals that the Birmingham-Hoover MSA has experienced significant losses in manufacturing over the past decade and has experienced gains in the leisure and hospitality industry. The report also reveals that Alabama has not fully recovered from the Great Recession.
Soon after PWCo released the report, the Birmingham Business Journal examined the findings and published an article entitled, “Report shows Birmingham economy slowly improving.”
